Machine description

The plant is meant for the thermal treatment of heating and/or cooling of products packaged in flexible packaging such as pouches, doypacks, small cups, etc… A stainless steel curvilinear belt conveys the products to be treated inside the plant. Thanks to its particular spiral configuration, remarkable process times in relatively narrow spaces can be obtained.

The product route is like an inclined plane with a constant slope; the absence of differences in height allows keeping both the order and direction of packages from the infeed to the outfeed. In the middle of the plant a rotary drum sets in motion the conveyor belt thanks to the friction generated by the contact surfaces. The pumping and distribution system ensures a uniform nebulization of water along the whole belt length, thus allowing for an effective thermal exchange. In the heater configuration, the water temperature is regulated through steam injection, while in the cooler configuration, it is controlled by cooling towers. The special frame structure allows the water collection tank and insulation/protective panels to be perfectly built-in. Therefore additional building frameworks or cabins/enclosures are not required for its operation. The system controlling the whole plant consists of a stainless steel cabinet containing the inverter controls for all the motors present and a series of remote panels holding the programmable logic devices and operator’s interface.
