Machine description

A cylindrical tank is assembled on a tubular frame supported by load cells for precisely dosing the ingredients that can be pumped such as concentrate, purée or pulp. The tank inside has a mirror bright finish to minimize fouling and aid washing. A special agitator made up of two concentric spirals allows a smooth mixing and it promotes the movement toward the transfer pump suction mouth; both the speed and rotation direction are controller by the inverter.

An automatic loader consisting of a column elevator, a hopper and a gate allows safely emptying the contents of the tanks (solid ingredients) inside the mixer. A valve system allows the following phases to be fully automated:

1) filling of ingredient pipes with ground outlet

2) ingredient call according to the recipe

3) emptying and draining of pipes with ground outlet

4) pipe wash/rinse cycle during CIP phase. The transfer pump is operated by inverters, and its speed can be changed as need be.

The same pump – in configuration as diluting device – is used for product recirculation inside the tank and it allows a smooth mixing of concentrate and water. The plant can be integrated with dosing tanks for liquid additives such as oils and brine. The electrical panel is outfitted with PLC and Touch Screen Panel. All the controls are both manual and automatic. All the processing parameters are stored on recipes that can be saved, modified, directly called up from the operator’s panel or another IT support. The supervision system is fitted with an Ethernet port for its connection to the company local network.

The plant allows continuous mixing of diced/extruded products with concentrated juices to obtain pulps with a consistent consistency and/or ° Brix. Two storage tanks, equipped with stirrers and CIP systems, contain the two products to be mixed. Two volumetric pumps, operated by inverters, take the two products from the tanks and transfer them to the downstream line. Acting on the speeds of the two volumetric pumps, the desired mixture is managed. The tanks can be equipped with temperature maintenance systems (double bottom with hot water recirculation) or with heating systems (steam coils).
